Participating in the US Open Semi-Finals at the age of 19, Yanina Wickmayer was one of the great surprises of the US Grand Slam tournament. That she reached the Semi-Finals was a surprise for many people, including Yanina Wickmayer herself.
"In the previous Grand Slam I had a few wrist problems" says the young 19 year old Belgian. "I arrived at the tournament tired with a lot of wrist stress. The pain got worse and the only thing I could do was rest and try to be ready for the tournaments in the USA and Canada in August, then for the US Open.  Wimbledon made me realise that training also has a lot to do with recovery.

I started to use Compex at the end of June, just a week before starting my American tour. The device's possibilities are impressive and Compex became an essential part of my training. And not only for my training - my training partners used it too. After all, they work as hard as me on the training court. I think we need more than one device!

We do not use Compex Mi Sport only for training and strengthening my muscles, but also, of course, for recovery. It is very important when you play in a series of tournaments, travel a lot, lose your normal training rhythm and put a lot of stress on your body."
"Reaching the Semi-Finals in the USA meant a lot to me. I spent a large part of my childhood in the USA and I trained there for years. So this tournament is very special. Compex was not the only reason for my success at the US Open. But it certainly helped to get me so far. And it will remain part of my training. And that of my training partners."
