Pain relief (combined use of TENS and endorphinic programs)
Analgesic electrostimulation acts according to two types of mechanisms:
- either by blocking transmission of pain (TENS type programs).
- or by releasing a natural substance with analgesic properties (endorphinic type programs)
Depending on their cause, some pains are better relieved by a TENS type program, whereas others would benefit from an endorphinic type program.
Some specific situations can present pains which require the simultaneous use of the 2 types of current, which only your physical therapist can do using his or her professional Compex.
